Not for a meal, although second supper was tempting, but a cheese plate and drinks.

barely buzzed (rubbed w/espresso & lavender, cow’s milk), sweet grass tomm (sheep’s milk), triple cream blue (cow’s milk), merlot cheese, boucheron goat cheese
Not a wine night, but stout for my nitro powered beauty,
and for me from Avery Brewery in Colorado a Belgian ale, one of their trio called the holy trinity. I drank heartily of salvation.

Looks like a fun place!
Yes, and the Chef is usually about. Their dinners are outstanding.
I love cheese! I drink more wine in the winter, but the coldest of beers on a hot summer day… love that!
I usually go for wine myself, but when you get specialty beers they are rich and complex too.
very true!
She’s cute! And kudos to her for going with a dark brew. I prefer the pale ones if I’m going to drink beer, yeungling or blue moon. Pairing it with cheese is an idea I’ll have to try sometime. Brie with a stout?
Yes, one of our evening rituals is to split a Guiness.
A nice brie — you could go either way. I might go with a clean white wine for it.
I’ve done wines with cheese, but it’s the beer combo I’m intrigued by.
try my favorite cheese, 12 month aged manchego – a sheep cheese. Delightful.
If you run over to Normandy France, try camberbert with their sparkling apple cider aperitif… splendid
If life leads me there, I’ll try that for sure.
do try the Manchego… some seven grain crackers…
I thought you led life ?
It seems like lately it’s leading me.
life’s funny that way, but I suspect you will get it figured out.
Soon I hope because this is driving me crazy.
once we put limberger cheese under the car seat of a friend while we were at a rugby tournament in Detroit. We laughed all the way back to Cleveland.
It drove him crazy. But you’ll get it going right.
That’s cruel! Lol. I’ll just have to start believing I will.
I still start laughing 30 years later just thinking about it.
As for you, of course you will. I believe in you.
You’re a gem. <3
You have the best adventures!!!!
Thanks – I’ve had a few good ones.
you would make me hungry at 9 pm! i’m suddenly feeling the need for a beer too! lol
Looks like a great evening!
sounds like a plan for sweet dreams!
well then i’ll make it two!! lol
Sounds like a fun and tasty night! Now I know where your daughters get their good looks!
yes, although once we overheard a family friend say, “How’d two such average people have such good looking kids?”
That friend might be wrong!
Your wife is plenty pretty!
it’s funny, and I know I am no longer handsome, my wife is older, but I am glad she kept her figure ( better than me ). But when I look at her, I see her as attractive as when we both were young. Maybe it is an illusion, but maybe I just see more clearly.
You are very handsome, Bill (You know I’m teasing you about all your daughters’ looks coming from your wife) You are quite a good looking couple, for sure!
The most important thing I’m seeing is how much you love her, and there in lies true beauty. Also, you probably do see more clearly!
I’ll have to order a custom gown!
— but then I’d have to get dressed up too!
Lol!
What a tease….the cheese look and sound delicious.
Good company, variety of cheese and beer, that seems like a nice combo and great night. Celebrating life?
Love dark sweeter beer on a hot summer day.
I hope somedays your husband takes you out, just for being you!
awww, yeah luckily he does. Though we need to remember it more often. I admire the spark in both of your’s eyes. That’s something I hope to have, still after long years of marriage.
Our hearts are still young.
And it shows.
My husband and I made a trip one summer to Chicago. What an awesome city!! Great food too. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.
If you two are ever in town again, let me know. Perhaps we can meet for lunch. I am out in the far suburbs, Naperville.
Yum!
Yummy looking food!
I need to get me some of that holy trinity – so that I can remain in spirit
It sure sounds like you both had a good time. I’m glad to hear it, and glad to have faces to go with names and posts.
Russ
thanks!
