silent spaces

Sometimes as evening falls into night we read

Come with me to that quiet place
Where just your presence is enough
With touch of hand or glance across the room

Words are out of place here
But each breath confirms the other
Their separate rhythm completes the whole

Shared spaces comfortably apart
Outside the evening moon bathes the world
As we sit in silos of incandescent light

Evening falls to night as pages turn
Engrossed in words and worlds we each absorb
that quiet peacefulness that is us.

I really like!!! I wrote a poem that is similar to this, but this is so well written.

thanks, I have enjoyed your poetry too. My wife and I met some 27 years ago by chance, and our first conversation was of our love of books.
