The more you love, the more you can love.

The human heart can grow boundlessly large in its capacity to love.
We must only accept the dare.

      Thanks — I just wanted my daughters to know that this kind of thing is a personal choice, not a cultural imperative. Love and the human psyche are complex.

  3. It’s a bit like exercise–the more you love, the better you get at it and the stronger your love is.

  4. When my daughter was little, one of my close friends came to visit and as she was leaving I hugged her and said, “love ya!” My daughter started to cry and said, “I thought you loved me…” I reassured her that I did but that the heart was big enough to love many people. 🙂

      How lucky for your daughter, that she can learn love from you.

      I grew up in a house where expressions of love were not easily shared, and I vowed to do better. I didn’t realize that it would heal me.
