when broken hand released
moves warily without the splint
refrain from excess movement
except those of kind intent
If a mosquito happens by
and alights upon your shoulder
embrace the passive stance
until the hand’s a few days older
for to strike a mighty blow
noble though the act may be
sees wary bug flit safely skyward
and puts the hurt on me.
Would ask you what’s the buzz, but that would be cruel! ๐
( laughing ) true… thanks for stopping by
Good one!
Russ
Ha!
Did I create a buzz ?
Lmao!
Aww sorry you hurt your hand! Pesky little mosquitoes!
just my pride ( smile )
(smiling too) sometimes that hurts more than something physical!
doesn’t it though!
Ah that’s wonderful, and I can totally see myself doing that with a broken hand or finger or something. There is great wisdom in these words, not to mention some laughs.
thanks! The mosquito was reminding me to be humble!
Yup. We can all use a reminder of that eh.
Cute piece and nicely done taking an irritating part of recovery life and turning it into humor.
“lenwilliamscarver ” covered most of the suggestions. Quick story:
I was camping out and had dryer sheets in my socks (I was wearing shorts) and on the back of my neck (tucked into my tee shirt but hanging out). My wife and grandkids though were sleeping in the cabin. Instead of cooking, we went out to a local restaurant. After we’re done, all three are laughing and laughing and doubled over. I’m standing there with a stupid grin giggling from their laughter but not knowing whatโs so funny until they were able to stop laughing so hard that tell me that I still had the dryer sheets in and how ridiculous I looked walking around like that. Randy
laughing out loud….. I don’t understand how James Bond always looks so cool! I can’t match it!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt splat ! ouch ouch ouch! I am so sorry but if you will use skin so soft from Avon they will leave you alone and if you don’t want to do that put a dryer sheet in your shirt pocket and jeans pocket (unused) they don’t like the smell so they stay away. Also make sure you have no standing water around if you do they sell mosquito dunks at most hardware/feed/ wa;mart stores just toss one in and it keeps them from laying eggs. Hope some of this sagely old womans advice helps!
thanks! I shall be a veritable scourge of the mosquito nation!
go gettum !!!
Ouch. Those nasty bugs!
at least winter is coming, one thing positive for that
You’ve got to be smarter than the mosquito. ๐
I was until proven wrong!
Nice
( laughing ) not when my hand hit my shoulder!
This is a public safety announcement for others
