new year’s reflection
Posted: December 29, 2012 Filed under: figures of speech, pearls of wisdom | Tags: improvement, life list, living life, new year's reflection, new year's resolution 31 CommentsI am not a big resolution guy, they’re too hard to keep.
Instead I like to use this day and think back to where I was in life on this day in previous years. Have I moved forward or regressed? Are there any items on my life list that can be checked off, or should I add any? Then reflection complete, I head into the new year.
Reflection at the New Year. Good idea, and a bit more realistic than resolutions. I like it. Happy New Year to you, Bill.
That sounds like an excellent approach, Bill. Thank you for sharing it.

anybody who has 2 classic cars deserves two likes!
Sounds like a great strategy.
The Life List have been checking off since birth. Too much to do and places to see. Never enough in one lifetime it seems.
don’t forget to save time for those quiet moments and listen to that inner voice.
Nice. I’ve never done resolutions either. It’s more of a do it throughout the year thing…I’ve definitely moved forward this year.

thanks! I appreciate it very much!
Happy New Year, Bill, to you and yours!
have the greatest of years, and if you have a headache on new years, I hope it is from the finest champagne!
😉
Then reflection complete, I head into a wall (but that’s just me!).
New Year’s Resolution: mend walls.
or build doors and windows! Have a great new year!
I like gratitude lists….
that’s a great idea. I’m grateful for your humor and insights!
Thank you very much, but let’s add a few more people and things, too…. Let’s start with the letter J and then do down the list of the others really close to you… HMM, who could they be?
I don’t believe in resolutions. If you really want change-than it shouldn’t matter the day. It should be all about where you want to be or what you want or see in that picture window 🙂
agreed, as my Sifu in Kung Fu used to say: “We can always seek to improve each day, refine our strength and improve our weakness.
What a great idea! Only problem is I can barely remember yesterday, never mind a year ago!
you always have a clear conscious!
haha truthfully I usually do! Never connected it to a short a memory though… 😉
If they’re small, they’re manageable. Have you moved forward.
?
it is said one can create a new habit in 21 days.
this was a year of running in place. How about for you?
I felt like I was moving, but often I discovered it was backward not forward. Maybe this coming year I’ll make progress.
you’re not alone and worth good things.Have the best of new years.
sounds good to me! i’m not a resolution type person either.
I resolved to stop making resolutions!
Now there’s one we can both keep! lol
