it’s a beautiful day for a ride – cycling

Just a mile from my house…
where the muskrat tribe slumber the cold away…
May every day be a great day.
How beautiful! The snow fascinates me – so pretty as it dusts all it lands on in that icing sugar kind of way.
I love the snow. But…. it can make you miserable. The key is to play in it, make snow angels, snow men, ski.
A fresh snowfall hides all the problems in the whole world.
Biking in winter? Snow problem!
But seriously, I admire this. It looks kind of rough out there
yes, I have to be careful not to get cold feet ๐
๐
Brrrr. Perfect day to ride with a balaklava!
Brrrr, but I love the pics!
Thanks — it’s excellent for rosy cheeks!
Thanks for starting my day with a chuckle, Bill! You are quite the adventurer. Reminds me of doing donuts in the snow when I was a kid! ๐
yeah — spinning the car around was great fun!
I am a winter bicyclist as well, but we change to studded tires. If we are really lucky we might use the lakes as bicycle paths. ๐
that sounds great. I’d love to see some pictures.
Brings back memories. Vancouver doesn’t have “dustings” of snow. When we do have snow, it is wet, wet, wet. I end up wearing rubber boots with thick stockings. What a wonderful day you had! Thanks for letting me tag along…
Chicago rarely gets snow, although we did have one storm with over 4-feet of snow last year.
When I lived in Cleveland we had lots of snow.
Bill what a wonderful post!! Glad you enjoyed your ride and took advantage of the beautiful sites along the way. God’s gifts are to be shared glad you shared this one!! Praying for you ๐
nice! it was a great day here too, pics tomorrow ๐
I look forward to seeing them!
a little bit of the snake, and little bit of a walk with the dog, maybe a sunset… ๐
๐
I don’t think biking at that temp. I think hot tea and warm blankets, but we enjoy things in different ways. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
dressing in layers always helps, and this is a bit of a statement that although I may still have some cancer cells withing, I am still living.
and finally… why do we do it? Because it feels so good when we stop!
Ride on, sir. ๐
indeed – ๐
Terrific pictures!
thanks — winter has it’s own special beauty.
You need some liquid chain for your tires! Glad you enjoyed your ride Bill. ๐
It was a brisk, great day. In snow, you drop your tire pressure to a very low amount 5-10 psi and while it is harder to pedal, you get good traction.
I used to ride all year long too before I had my daughter. ๐
time to get back into it!
Sold my bike last summer actually…
walking is fun too.
I need to do more of that. In this job I have now it’s too far to walk there so I drive. I miss walking to work. It’s a great de-stressor!
some people where I work walk every day at lunch.
I did that for awhile to but having a destination and reason works better for me, i.e., I have to get to work!
one destination would be to a point and back, and find something interesting, fun, and or beautiful.
I know you’re right Bill, but I’m feeling argumentative. (sticking out my tongue and doing that raspberry noise)
after breakfast you will feel better ( smile ) and agree with me!
are you ever going to post some motorcycle pictures ?
I don’t have any!
