The human body is made to fast – but oh those midnight snacks….
I’m sleeping while you’re snacking Bill!
The human body is made to last – if we forgo those midnight snacks.
i think you might have meant that, too. Randy
Ha! Being svelte is more than a smaller belt !
with that, I’m biking out of here.
At midnight, and especially when you have already brushed your teeth after dinner!
“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” (you know who said that) 🙂
Does sleepwalk eating count? You know, like when you wake up in the morning and the little jar of Djon is scraped clean & there’s a spoon inside of it?
Ha Resa, you must be very petite – for me it would be whole fridge was scraped clean 🙂
“LOL” 😀 😀
That happens to your too?!!! I find that food tastes better at midnight!
Especially condiments! 😀
Fasting physically and mentally is cleansing and helps us recieve the nutrients we need to carry us to the next step.
I agree, and now science is weighing in with positive results.
They’ve studied rats who were always a bit hungry to rats who were never hungry and the ones who were a bit hungry, lived longer. I think that applies to more than food, in fact it’s a theory of mine that it is good to always be a bit hungry, hungry for food, hungry toward a goal, hungry in love, etc., something to strive toward…. better than being always sated.
check this out: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/dietandfitness/11268685/Eat-within-12-hour-window-to-lose-weight-say-scientists.html
and they are considering fasting as a way to boost t-cells in chemo / cancer patients.
Interesting! I saw a doctor on TV or an author of a book right around the time I had gained about 10 lbs…anyway he said 8 hour window and that’s what I do. He said that what we think is hungry is our body detoxifying. When we continually eat, we don’t detoxify and thus we get sick. He also spoke of cancer, diabetes and heart disease in relation to our constant eating.
He also said if you aren’t a breakfast eater, don’t eat it and I don’t! He said most people eat crap for breakfast like muffins, etc., anyway.
In case you’re wondering… the 8 hour window was hard for about 2 days because I’d gotten used to snacks at night. I don’t feel hungry outside of it anymore.
I don’t think it is made to fast. To eat responsibly and moderately, yes; too fast, no.
seems like there are benefits science is discovering now
